School Meals

Bransty Primary School prides itself on offering home cooked, quality, healthy meals for our children. All our food is cooked and served on site by Barbara and her team and comply with National Food Standards. We have a high percentage of children enjoying school meals every day, including our children attending Nursery.

We use Orian Lunch Hub for choosing and paying for school meals. This is a user friendly and popular online service, taking only a couple of minutes a week for children to choose their favourite dishes and for parents to top up and credit the meal account. Menus are varied and uploaded via the system up to three weeks in advance. The task of sending cash or cheques into school every week is now not necessary, making it much easier for parents/carers.

School meals are paid for online through Lunch Hub and cost:

£2.75 per child per day = £13.75 per week for KS2 children (Years 3-6).

£2.70 per child per day = £13.50 per week for Nursery children.

Children in Reception to Year 2 qualify for Universal Free School Meals and are funded by the Government.

Please find below a link for information on Free School Meals (FSM) and how to apply. It is important even if your child qualifies for Universal Free School Meals that you still apply for FSM, as it may mean extra funding for your child’s school and their education, through the Pupil Premium Grant.

If you would like to discuss this any further, you can contact Mrs K. Walker or Mrs C. Johnson in the school office.

If your child wishes to change from packed lunch to school dinners or school dinners to packed lunch two weeks written notice is required.
