At Bransty Primary all children are given the opportunity to undertake a balanced programme of 2D and 3D art activities which gives the children access to the traditions and language of art.
Each of the 3 programmes of study for each key stage are visited throughout each unit (block) following the CUSP curriculum model which builds on knowledge, skills and techniques and develops vocabulary and subject specific knowledge.
The CUSP Art curriculum is organised into blocks with each block covering a particular set of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, 3D and collage. Vertical progression in each discipline has been deliberately woven into the fabric of the curriculum so that pupils can revisit key disciplines throughout their Primary journey at increasing degrees of challenge and complexity.
