Transfer to secondary school – September 2022

If your child is currently in year 6 at junior/primary school, they will be due to transfer to secondary school in September 2022.

You must apply to Cumbria County Council for a secondary school place, under the Local Authority’s Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme.

Applying for a Secondary School Place

Please note – the online application process closes on 31st October 2021.

Applications received after 31 October 2021 will be treated as late applications.

It is essential that you made your application before the closing date. If you did not, this could severely reduce the chances of you securing a place at one of your preference schools.

If your child is in Year 6 at a primary or junior school in Cumbria you should have received a letter and a leaflet, via the school, which gives you some basic information about how to apply, and also a Unique Identifier (UID) code. This is a code which identifies your child’s application and using it will make it easier to complete your online application.

If you have not received a letter you can still apply online but you will need to enter all of your information manually.

Alternatively please click here for applications for children due to to start Secondary School in September 2022.
